Undefeated champion Shadasia Green stretchered out after brutal title fight

Nobody inside the arena cared about scorecards anymore once Shadasia Green stopped responding properly in her corner.

The undefeated American champion had entered the night defending multiple world titles against New Zealand’s Lani Daniels. By the end of the ninth round buildup, people at ringside were staring toward Green’s stool in complete silence while medics rushed forward.

For a few tense minutes, boxing stopped feeling like entertainment.

Fight suddenly changes in the later rounds

Shadasia Green started well early in the fight, using her jab and physical strength to keep Daniels cautious through the opening rounds. But somewhere around the eighth, the pace began catching up with her.

Her reactions slowed noticeably.

Watching the broadcast back later, you could see Green breathing heavily between exchanges and blinking hard after every clinch. Daniels recognized it immediately and started pressing forward with more confidence.

When round nine began, Green barely came out of the corner.

That’s when Lani Daniels unloaded several hard right hands against the ropes while the referee moved closer and closer, clearly preparing to intervene.

Seconds later, the fight was stopped.

Daniels celebrated briefly before realizing something was seriously wrong across the ring.

Concern replaces celebration almost instantly

Green sat down after the stoppage looking disoriented.

The atmosphere inside the venue changed fast. Fans who had been cheering moments earlier suddenly went quiet as medical staff entered the ring. Within minutes, Green was placed onto a stretcher and taken away for further evaluation.

People near ringside described the scene as unsettling because Green appeared slow to respond while doctors checked her condition.

FSI247 recently reported on another frightening moment involving an injured fighter during a major combat sports event, and Saturday night carried that same uneasy feeling once the cameras stopped focusing on the winner.

Relief arrives after backstage update

Thankfully, later updates brought better news.

According to officials backstage, Green regained full awareness in the dressing room and was able to communicate normally with medical personnel. That eased fears significantly after the frightening images broadcast live.

Still, the incident reminded everyone how quickly boxing can turn dangerous once exhaustion and accumulated damage begin taking over.

Especially at championship level.

The current WBA women’s rankings already placed both fighters among the elite names in the division, but title fights often become wars of attrition once momentum swings late.

Daniels handled that moment better.

Daniels leaves with titles but difficult emotions

For Daniels, the victory changes everything professionally.

She leaves with world titles and arguably the biggest win of her career. But post-fight interviews felt subdued because concern for Green overshadowed almost everything else surrounding the result.

That happens sometimes in boxing.

A fighter can win the biggest night of their life and still walk back to the locker room thinking mostly about the opponent who needed help leaving the ring.

FSI247 also covered recent discussions around fighter safety in combat sports, and this fight instantly became part of that conversation.

Because once Green was carried away on the stretcher, nobody cared who won the early rounds anymore.
